Business Analysis (BA) was for many years a skill-set in decline, but there has recently been a marked increase in the requirements for skilled and qualified Business Analysts, we have therefore seen a resurgence in demand for Business Analysis qualifications.
Business Analysis as a discipline has a heavy overlap with requirements analysis, which is sometimes also called requirements engineering, but focuses on identifying the changes to an organisation that are required for it to achieve strategic goals. These changes may include changes to strategies, structures, policies, processes, and information systems and technologies. The Business Analyst is therefore an agent of change within an organisation.
Business Analysis is a disciplined approach for introducing and managing change to organisations, whether they are for-profit businesses, governments, or non-profits.
