ISO/IEC 38500 is the international standard for corporate governance of Information Technology. It provides a framework for effective governance of IT to assist those at the highest level of organisations to understand and fulfil their legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations in respect of their organisations' use of IT.
ISO/IEC 38500 is applicable to organisations of all sizes, including public and private companies, government entities, and not-for-profit organisations. This standard provides guiding principles for directors of organisations on the effective, efficient, and acceptable use of IT within their organisations. It is organised into three prime sections, specifically, Scope, Framework and Guidance and also provides guidance to those advising, informing, or assisting directors.
Our ISO/IEC 38500 Foundation classroom course, which is sourced from one of our strategic training partners IT Governance, provides the guiding principles to be used within an organisation.
