Description

Our Lean Six Sigma Black Belt course will be run as two 5-day sessions, it will enable you to become self-sufficient process improvement practitioners with the capability to analyse opportunities and deliver solutions:

  • Scope improvement projects including the development of charters.
  • Determining and managing stakeholder requirements.
  • Further develop their in-depth understanding of qualitative and quantitative tools to measure and analyse business process.
  • Apply lean principles to determine customer value, determine value streams, understand flow develop pull systems and ensure perfection.
  • Identify, quantify and select the most suitable solutions.
  • Control business processes and understand process change through the use of SPC and change management skills
  • Manage and mentor Green Belt projects and resources

About the Course

Our Lean Six Sigma Black Belt course will provide you with the necessary tools and techniques to manage improvement resources to deliver major projects. In-class activities will show you how to perform statistical calculations using the Industry Standard package (Minitab) while the Case Study based exercises will challenge you to use the tools learned in a real-world perspective. A Final Case Study exercise on the last day will allow you to practice many of your new-found skills in a joined-up way.

Prerequisites

Please Note: You MUST be qualified at Lean Six Sigma Green Belt level before Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

You will need to bring a laptop configured with Minitab 16 or later (version 17 highly recommended), an evaluation copy of Minitab is available as a free download from the Minitab website. You will be provided with details in the pre-course notes which will be sent to you when you register for the course.

Prereading

  • It is advised that you review your Yellow & Green Belt study material as well as prepare for the course using the pre-course reading material which will be emailed as part of the course booking process.
  • Using the summary of the course Scenario provided in the pre-course reading, you should prepare or the first exercise.

Exam Overview

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Examination:

  • 40 Questions
  • 1 Hour Open Book Examination
  • Pass Mark of 70%

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Examination:

  • 30 Questions
  • 2 Hours Open Book Examination
  • Pass Mark of 70%

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Examination:

The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt assessment is split between satisfactory performance of Case Study exercises and a final written examination. Each part of the assessment has 50 marks (100 in total) and you need to gather at least 70 marks to be awarded a certificate.
