Assertion means standing up for what you want and stating your needs clearly and calmly. It means expressing your opposition and because that sometimes leads to confrontation it takes courage. Assertiveness is a learned behaviour and some find it harder than others because of their natural easy-going style therefore more practice is required.
About the Course
You will learn that being assertive is about confidence and having a high self esteem, assertive people can express their own views with confidence but also appreciate the views of others. We will show you how to feel confident saying 'no' to others and can provide alternatives to resolve discrepancies and you will have the opportunity to take part in practical exercises aimed at testing a number of different conflict techniques.
